Burglary Arrest: On 04/20/2013, police charged Johnathon W. Nester, age 21, Overland Drive, for burglary in connection with the theft of a television from a residence.
On 04/19/2013, a resident in the 900 block of Villa Drive reported that his apartment had been unlawfully entered during the afternoon hours and a Sanyo 40” television was stolen. Nester was identified as a suspect in the theft.
The follow-up investigation revealed that Misty L. Wilson, age 29, Villa Drive, had transferred the stolen television to another party shortly after the burglary and that Nester was with her when the exchange was made.
Later the same evening, the investigating officer observed Wilson operating a vehicle in the area of Villa Drive and stopped the vehicle. During the course of the stop, the officer discovered suspected heroin, Xanax pills, and other prescription medications in Wilson’s purse along with cut straws.
It was also discovered that a passenger in the vehicle, Matthew K. Tatum, age 24, Baker Court, was under a Domestic Violence Protection Order not to have any contact or communication with Wilson. A marijuana cigarette and six Percocet pills were found in the vehicle near Tatum.
Wilson was cited and released for the following violations:
– Receiving Stolen Property Under $500
– Theft by Deception Under $500
– Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
– Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
– Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Tatum was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC:
– Violation of a Domestic Violence Order
– Possession of Marijuana
– Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
On 04/20/2013, the investigating officer located Nester on Keri Ann Drive and took him into custody without incident. He was charged for Burglary 2nd Degree and lodged in the MCDC.
Burglary Arrest: On 04/17/2013, police arrested Linda N. Gadd, age 23, Flat Gap Road, Berea, in connection with the unlawful entry into a residence to commit an assault in March 2013.
On 03/16/2013, officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Race Street to investigate a reported assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that Gadd had entered the residence of her former boyfriend without permission and assaulted a female inside the home by striking her in the face and scratching her. Gadd fled from the residence when a neighbor intervened. The victim suffered a bruise to her face and several scratch marks on her arms.
On 03/26/2013, a warrant was issued for Gadd’s arrest charging her for Burglary 2nd Degree and Assault 4th Degree.
On 04/17/2013, Gadd was located in Rockcastle County and arrested by KSP on the strength of the outstanding warrant. She was lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center pending transfer to Madison District Court.
Theft Charges: On 04/18/2013, police charged Kayla S. Grubb, age 22, Ty Court, for several offenses in connection with a theft investigation originating in March 2013.
On 03/20/2013, a resident of Ty Lane reported that several items had been stolen from his residence sometime during the past two weeks. The following items were reported missing: a silver EKU OVC Champions and Tangerine Bowl football ring; a platinum wedding band with seven diamonds; and a thick gold wedding band. The victim further reported that several other items had been stolen from his residence in the past, including personal checks, an iPhone, a debit card, and a handgun. The victim identified Grubb as a suspect in the thefts.
On 04/18/2013, police located Grubb and interviewed her at the police station, after which she was charged for Theft by Unlawful Taking – Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property Under $500, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card Over $500 in connection with the above investigation.
During the course of the contact with Grubb, the investigating officer recovered 16 oxycodone pills, four spoons with suspected drug residue, used syringes and other drug paraphernalia from her purse.
Grubb was further charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was cited and released.
Shoplifting Arrest: On 04/21/2013, police charged Norma J. Gay, age 64, Booneville, KY, for several offenses in connection with a shoplifting incident that occurred at Kohl’s.
At approximately 4:53 P.M., an officer responded to Kohl’s to investigate a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, employees reported that Gay was concealed $722.93 worth of merchandise inside a stolen purse and left the store without paying. She was then detained by employees. A pair of scissors and a knife that Gay utilized to cut security tags from the stolen items were also recovered.
Gay was charged for the following offenses and lodged in the MCDC:
– Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500
– Possession of Burglary Tools
– Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
Theft Arrest: On 04/21/2013, police arrested Carl T. Sandlin, age 32, N. Estill Avenue, in connection with a theft that occurred in February 2013.
On 02/02/2013, a complainant reported that he was at the Knights Inn, Northgate Drive, with a female associate when the female invited three other male guests to the room. The victim left the room for a period of time and when he returned, one of the males attacked him and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, another one of the males started removing items from the victim’s pockets, to include his wallet, cellular telephone, and vehicle keys. The victim was able to escape and fled from the room. Estimated loss: $410.00
The follow-up investigation identified Sandlin as the suspect who had stolen the items from the victim’s pockets. On 04/16/2013, a warrant was issued for Sandlin’s arrest, charging him for Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $500.
On 04/21/2013, Sandlin was located on N. Estill Avenue and taken into custody without incident. He was lodged in the MCDC.
Theft: On 04/17/2013, a representative of T & F Properties reported that the copper lines had been cut from four exterior air conditioning units of an apartment building located in the 200 block of S. Collins Street. Several feet of copper tubing was also cut from under the building. The theft occurred over the previous weekend. Estimated loss: $2000.00
Burglary of Residence: On 04/20/2013, a resident in the 1600 block of Foxhaven Drive reported that his apartment had been broken into during the evening hours and a number of items were stolen. Entry was gained by forcing open the rear door. The following items were reported missing: five sterling silver Avon rings; $500 in cash; an LG 60” plasma television, model 60 PA5500; a Samsung laptop computer, model NP305E7AA03; a Sony PlayStation 3 with eight games; and a Netbook tablet, Premium 10 model. Estimated loss: $4290.00
