Drug Arrests: On 06/15/2013, RPD Bike Patrol officers arrested Dustin L. Prather, age 30, Walnut Meadow Pike, and Jacqueline F. Coffey, age 44, Irvine, KY, after interrupting a suspected drug deal.
At approximately 7:26 P.M., bike patrol officers observed Prather standing next to a vehicle occupied by Coffey parked on Pine Street near Dillingham Park. Officers observed what they suspected of being a drug deal in progress and approached the two. Upon making contact with Prather, officers recovered a bottle from his person that contained 42 oxycodone pills, 15.5 alprazolam pills and one clonazepam pill. As he was being placed under arrest, Prather pushed one of the officers and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
Coffey was found to have $416.00 in cash on her person. She was also taking into custody. Both were lodged in the MCDC, charged for the following offenses:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (2 counts)
Prather was also charged for Resisting Arrest. (1463/457)
A warrant for non-payment of fines from the Estill County District Court was also served on Coffey.
A third party, Anthony W. Coffey, age 45, Irvine, KY, at the scene was also taken into custody and charged for Alcohol Intoxication. He was lodged in the MCDC.
Theft Arrest: On 06/13/2013, police charged John H. Nester, age 43, Overland Drive, in connection with a theft from a residence.
On 06/12/2013, a resident in the 100 block of Overland Drive reported that he had purchased a Beta Brite electronic scrolling sign through an auction. The sign was shipped to the victim’s home and left on his front porch. It was subsequently determined that the package containing the sign had been stolen from his front porch during the early afternoon hours.
Nester was developed as a suspect in the theft and it was subsequently that he had transferred the stolen sign to another party shortly after the theft. The value of the sign was estimated at $600.00.
On 06/13/2013, Nester was taken in to custody at his residence and charged for Receiving stolen Property over $500. He was lodged in the MCDC. The sign was recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
Drug Arrest: On 06/13/2013, police charged Ashley Fryer, age 26, Logsdon Lane, Berea, for several drug offenses after responding to an intoxicated person complaint.
At approximately 3:41 P.M., an officer was dispatched to the area of N. First Street and Moberly Avenue to investigate a report of an intoxicated person. Upon arrival, the officer encountered Fryer who appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant other than alcohol. Fryer was taken into custody for Public Intoxication and transported to the MCDC where a search of her purse revealed approximately 27.5 Xanax pills, one-half oxycodone pill; a metal spoon; and a syringe.
Fryer was charged for the following additional offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Burglary of Residence: On 06/10/2013, a resident in the 400 block of Fifth Street reported that his home had been broken into during the afternoon hours and numerous items were stolen. Entry was gained by forcing open a side door. The following items were reported missing: a silver Toshiba laptop computer; a black Toshiba laptop computer; a black Blackberry cellular telephone; a man’s gold wedding band with 7-8 small diamonds; a ladies’ gold wedding bank with a large diamond in the middle surrounded by several small diamonds; a pair of gold earring; 25 lapel pins of various colors; a gold bracelet; a collection of state quarters (48 U.S. states); a Samsung Galaxy cellular telephone; and two Palm Pilot PDAs. Estimated loss: $17211.00
Burglary of Residence: On 06/10/2013, a resident in the 400 block of Breck Avenue reported that several items had been stolen from his unsecure apartment during the past day. The following items were reported missing: an older model Zenith television; a Zenith VCR; a Sanyo VCR; Various DVDs and VCR movies; a brown antique end table, round; $47.00 in cash; a wallet; credit cards and personal identification documents; and several bottles of prescription medication. Estimated loss: $997.00
Shoplifting: On 06/14/2013, a representative of Walmart reported that a Samsung 32” LED television, model #UN32EH4003FX, had been stolen from the store on 06/11/2013. Estimated loss: $268.00
Theft of Bicycle: On 06/15/2013, a resident in the 300 block of Kristen Drive reported that his bicycle had been stolen from outside the front of his apartment during the overnight hours. The stolen item was described as a silver Mongoose mountain bicycle, 21-speed, with yellow lettering and a black cloth seat cover. Estimated loss: $300.00
Burglary of Residence: On 06/15/2013, residents of an apartment in the 200 block of Hallie Irvine Street reported that their unsecured home had been unlawfully entered during the late evening hours of 06/14 or the early morning hours of 06/15 and a number of items had been stolen. The following items were reported missing: a Blackberry cellular telephone; an Al Karter cellular telephone; four personal checkbooks; a Gateway netbook; $1185.00 in cash; an Xbox 360 gaming console with two controllers; Visa cards; a floor lamp; a Time Warner cable box; and assorted Xbox games. Estimated loss: $3956.00
