Richmond Police Report March 27, 2012

ARRESTED


Shoplifting: On 03/23/12 officers responded to a call from Loss Prevention at Walmart, 820 Eastern Bypass. Loss Prevention advised that 6 suspects were stealing merchandise then attempting to return the items for cash.

Officers caught up with the suspect vehicle and 5 subjects in the parking lot. Stolen property was located and the following persons arrested: Shelby Short, age 30, for Burglary 3rd, ( due to a criminal trespass warning being given to the suspect earlier), Tawannia Isaacs, age 27, Shoplifting, Joann Isaacs, age 44, Shoplifting, Kimberly Abshear, age 55, Shoplifting and Edward Moore, age 26, Burglary (due to a previous criminal trespass warning). Total stolen/recovered property: $729.87.

ARRESTED


Shoplifting: On 03/26/2012, Officers responded to Walmart in reference to an intoxicated subject, cutting open packages.

Upon arrival, they spoke with an off-duty officer who had witnessed James R Harvey, age 38, cutting open packages.

Harvey was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of a controlled substance. His female companion, Melissa Dalton, age 33, was also taken into custody and charged with Shoplifting and Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd.

Burglary: On 03/21/12 the owner of a residence at the 100 block of Maple Hill Drive reported that some furniture was removed from his residence. Missing was a green couch and love seat set with 6 matching green/brown pillows, 2 wooden end tables, a matching coffee table and 2 lamps. Estimated loss: $1,300.00

Shoplifting: On 03/24/2012, employees of Dollar General, 471 Eastern Bypass observed a female, known to them as Marie Crutcher, choose a bag of dog food from an outdoor display and then enter the store. After looking around the store, the suspect exited the store without making payment for the food. The clerks followed the suspect and attempted to get her to pay for the food, however, she got in her vehicle and drove off without making payment. Estimated loss: $12.00.

Theft from vehicles: On 03/22/12, two residents of the 1600 block of Foxhaven Drive reported that their vehicles had been entered and items stolen. Missing items include: a Roxy backpack with three text books, a TI-84 graphing calculator, a red Craftsman 21” self-propelled lawnmower and a yellow and black Bolen brand weed eater. One vehicle was entered by busting out a small, back window. Estimated property loss: $315.00. Estimated vehicle damage: $100.00

Theft: On 03/22/12 a victim reported that while playing basketball at Lake Reba, his cellphone was taken. Missing cell phone is described as black Samsung w/Straight Talk network. Estimated loss: $150.00

Theft from Vehicle: On 03/22/12 a victim reported that while his 1997 Toyota pickup was parked at the soccer fields at Lake Reba, someone busted out a window and took the following items: a black leather bag, and an olive drab backpack which contained a Blackberry cellphone with charger, cash, credit cards, checkbook and other personal items. Estimated loss: $990.00, Estimated damage to vehicle: $200.00

Burglary: On 03/23/12 a resident of the 300 block of Irvine View Drive reported that her residence had been entered and the only items found missing were some U.S. coins valued at $10.00.

Burglary: On 03/23/12 a resident of the 100 block of Bradbury Pointe reported that several pieces of lawn -care equipment were taken from his unlocked storage building. Missing from the property were a Stihl weed eater, a Red Max weed eater, a Stihl chainsaw, a Husqvarna chainsaw, a Poulan chainsaw, an unknown brand heater blower, a Stihl leaf blower and a red and black Troybilt push mower.
Estimated loss: $2,850.

Burglary: On 03/23/12 a resident of the 100 block of Leimaur Drive reported that his residence had been broken into and the following stolen: 32” Toshiba flat panel TV and some tax papers. Estimated loss: $300.00

Theft from Vehicle: On 03/24/2012, a customer of the Cinemark Theatre, 2130 Lantern Ridge Drive, advised an officer that someone had entered his vehicle parked vehicle at the rear of the cinemas and stole several items. Stolen from the vehicle were a Tom Tom GPS/charger/case, DSI charger/case, 20 DSI video games, cellphone charger and earphones and a DVD duel player. Entry was gained by breaking out the passenger side rear window. Estimated loss: $810.00

Purse Snatching: On 03/24/12 a victim reported that while loading items in her car from shopping at Big Lots, 472 Eastern Bypass, a white male grabbed her purse from the buggy and left in a pickup truck described as covered in mud with dark tinted windows. The purse was described as a black shoulder bag, containing an unknown brand flip-phone, cash and some personal items. Estimated loss: $830.00

Theft: On 03/24/12 a victim of the 900 block of Sombrero Drive reported that someone stole his unknown brand, green push mower from his driveway during the overnight hours. Estimated loss: $150.00

Burglary: On 03/24/12 a victim of the 800 block of Melanie Drive reported that someone entered her unsecured garage during the overnight hours and took a Troybilt self-propelled push mower.
Estimated loss: $300.00.

Theft: On 03/26/2012, a resident of the 900 block of Villa Drive reported that someone stole 4 tires/rims from his back porch sometime between 03/25/12 around 20:00hrs and 03/26/12 around 17:00hrs. The wheels were aluminum Subaru wheels. Estimated loss: $600.00

Vehicle Theft: On 03/26/2012, a resident of the 400 block of Michelle Court reported that his 2006 GMC Canyon pickup had been stolen between the hours of 8:00 pm on 03/25/12 and 7:00 am on 03/26/12. The vehicle is described as a white, 2006 GMC Canyon pickup, white with tinted windows and a dent in the tailgate. Estimated loss is $10,000
